Who I am
This website, rickysoo.com, is run by Ricky Soo in Malaysia. I am responsible for the personal data collected here. To ask a question or make a request about your data, message me on WhatsApp (+60 11-5140 7353) or LinkedIn.
What I collect and why
1. Visit statistics (only if you accept)
I use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which parts of the page they find useful. It records things like pages viewed, device and browser type, roughly where you are (country or city), and how you arrived. IP addresses are shortened, and I can't use this data to tell who you are. It is only switched on after you click Accept.
2. Live chat (only if you accept)
The chat button is provided by Respond.io. If you use it, your messages and any details you choose to share, like your name, phone number or email, are stored so I can reply. The chat only loads after you click Accept.
3. Messages you send me
If you contact me on WhatsApp, LinkedIn or Facebook, I use your details only to reply and help with your question. Those services handle your data under their own privacy policies.
What I don't do
- No advertising or ad tracking.
- No selling or renting your data.
- Fonts are stored on this website, so loading the page doesn't send your data to Google.

Legal basis
Visit statistics and live chat are based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. When you message me, I process your details to reply to your request.
Who else handles the data
Google (Analytics) and Respond.io (chat) process data for me as service providers. They may store it on servers outside your country, including in the United States, using legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long I keep it
Analytics data is kept for a limited period set in Google Analytics, then deleted automatically. Chat and message history is kept only as long as needed to help you. You can ask me to delete it sooner at any time.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), you can:
- Ask what data I hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Ask me to correct or delete your data
- Object to or limit how I use it
- Withdraw consent at any time using Cookie settings
- Complain to your local data protection authority
To use any of these rights, just message me. I'll reply within 30 days.

If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date at the top.
